I've been so lax on the blogging recently. Things have been pretty crazy. I DID happen to watch the Fran Drescher TAWK show and thought she looked beautiful. I have to admit, I was not the biggest fan of Chef Lala. She seemed pretty nervous and anxious. Anyways, I decided to compile these photos that I took of some of my favorite outfits from Season 3 of the Nanny. All I want for Christmas is for Season 4 to be released!!!

Fran and I both love an obscenely body con homage to a classic Chanel suit.

I think polio would die for this shirt. I think he might have even found it on ebay at some point?

This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Fran outfit. There's something uber glam about it while being a bit Margiela at the same time. It's like she found a muppet on the side of the road and made an extremely luxe, glamorous jacket out of it. She makes everything look glamorous.

One thing that will make me give mad fashion propers is fashion disasters. Sometimes Leighton Meester is crazy amazing and sometimes she just looks crazy (the multi-colored leggings, bandau top, and vest combo comes to mind immediately.) It means that a lady will take sartorial chances and Fran Fine would 100% endorse this style philosophy. These are some of my favorite of outfits of hers, maybe because they're dead ringers for a certain Nanny? I kind of love her now that I started looking at all her different style incarnations! She wears Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab (2 of my favorites!) and stays away from the tried and true and expected.

P.S. To clear up some of the confusion from the comments, that's not my head that I'm photoshopping onto photos. This blog is an hommage to my all time favorite tv show, the Nanny. Watch it and you won't regret it! (I wish I looked like that!)

Ugh. I've been so sick for the past week. It's been horrible. I had actually convinced myself at some point that I had some sort of victorian virus, something that I'd seen in Anne of Green Gables. The croup did cross my mind, and yes, I know babies only get it. Anyways, I've been really bad about posting and keep up on my shows, Nanny, and fashion related.
Spring 2010 has been a really weird season. Certain designers/brands that I haven't ever really been into I ended up liking and designers that I love kind of left me cold this season. I've never really paid that much attention to Kenzo/ Antonio Marras, but now I'm wondering why I haven't. I don't know. This season kind of reminded me of Miguel Adrover a little bit (I miiiiiiissss you. I've seen that catalog work you've done and it only makes me miss your self titled line even more.) Also I feel like a little bit of dries? I like a loose easy silhouette and how some designers actually offer clothes that people can wear. People who do not have time nor the desire to hit the gym 3-4 hours a day and also be macrobiotic.
Btw, I like pants. Why is Spring 2010 making me feel bad for saying that?

Every once in a while you happen upon a collection that is so straight forward Nanny that you almost don't even want to post it. I'm starting to realize that's a big mistake. This collection hits on all three nanny classics, the loud red skirt/suit, leopard print, and the evening gown. Coincidentally, the shots are taken on a staircase which one can imagine that that was the next landing in the Sheffield home before she takes her descent into the living room.

A couple nights ago I got to meet some of my favorite internet ladies and (gentlemen). Some of them even got to be there in person for this Marc does Comme show. I really like this collection! My favorite since the mirrored hat collection (it's in a previous post). Anyways, this post is for you guys! Hope to see you all soon.

So as I'm waiting for more Spring Summer 2010 images to pop up and hoping that styles, necklines, and skin tones will match Fran's, I figured I'd do another "behind Should be on the Nanny" post. Sometimes we all like to be a little self-indulgent.
First, I pick a collection that I would like to see Fran or CC wear. Secondly, I try to see if skin tones will match and if not I look for high necklines so that you don't see the difference as much. Lastly, there are certain models that just look really good for Fran or for CC. For Fran, Amanda Laine does really well. If I see she's in the collection, i'll usually go with her look. Imagine my panic when people started inquiring about her whereabouts and wondering if she had retired already. Because CC has short hair it's sometimes hard to photoshop images with the girls with mermaid hair. Asia Bugajska (my new favorite model and clearly Encens's as well. There's like some 30 page editorial in most recent issue just of her) is a good fit for CC. Thanks ladies!

I guess I'm getting old but I'm getting really tired of clothes that people can't wear. Don't get me wrong, about two years ago I was still all about the difficult wear. If I ever saw clothes that weren't an assualt on the eye, I'd be like, "ugh, that's soooooo pedestrian." (thanks SAT prep.) Now, I actually recognize how hard it is to make pieces that people will want to wear in their daily lives. I guess I just stopped being a snob and started to recognize the importance and the difficulty of the everyday. That being said, I think Isabel Marant, does a really good job of making wearable pieces that also look luxe without trying too hard. Also, Emanuelle Alt does a great job of styling. (I prefer the work she does with Isabel Marant to what she does with Balmain.) ALSO, for this show she used one of my favorite songs of all time. Don't be scared by the Hitler stash.
