Sorry I've been away from this blog for a while. Spring 2010 was very tough for Nanny styles, if you haven't been able to tell. Good news, Pre-fall seasons! Consider this a present from me to you, Miss CC Babcock in Francisco Costa's pre-fall blacks. You can thank me later. I do have to say though, I think I might love CC best of all.
I know this isn't Nanny related but DAYUM! That is one hot photoshop job. I feel a bit ashamed to post it with my chop shop photoshopping skills (I know I've been getting a little lazy.) This image is my inspiration for working harder and trying to bring you more complicated photoshoppings in the future. btw, this photo is also hilarious.
I've been wanting to do a Christopher Kane for Topshop post but decided against it so many times because I knew the images would not turn out well (the model has very long hair and her skin tone is quite pale.) I finally bit the bullet because what kind of blogger would I be if I DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE OBVIOUS? You know Fran Fine would love this collection, fluorescents, bodysuits, mesh, tight silhouettes, short hemlines, and tiny mirrors and eyelets for maximum shine and glitz. (Also, I feel like Fran Fine would be all about the no pants craze.)
Ok. Let's get back down to REAL Fran wear. So on Should Be On The Nanny, we fully believe that Fran would wear Antonio Berardi as often as possible (mixed in with the obligatory Moschino.) On a side note, the off the shoulder white dress is soooo updated Madonna "Who's That Girl?" I kind of diiiiieeeee for it.
Ugh. I've been so sick for the past week. It's been horrible. I had actually convinced myself at some point that I had some sort of victorian virus, something that I'd seen in Anne of Green Gables. The croup did cross my mind, and yes, I know babies only get it. Anyways, I've been really bad about posting and keep up on my shows, Nanny, and fashion related. Spring 2010 has been a really weird season. Certain designers/brands that I haven't ever really been into I ended up liking and designers that I love kind of left me cold this season. I've never really paid that much attention to Kenzo/ Antonio Marras, but now I'm wondering why I haven't. I don't know. This season kind of reminded me of Miguel Adrover a little bit (I miiiiiiissss you. I've seen that catalog work you've done and it only makes me miss your self titled line even more.) Also I feel like a little bit of dries? I like a loose easy silhouette and how some designers actually offer clothes that people can wear. People who do not have time nor the desire to hit the gym 3-4 hours a day and also be macrobiotic. Btw, I like pants. Why is Spring 2010 making me feel bad for saying that?
Every once in a while you happen upon a collection that is so straight forward Nanny that you almost don't even want to post it. I'm starting to realize that's a big mistake. This collection hits on all three nanny classics, the loud red skirt/suit, leopard print, and the evening gown. Coincidentally, the shots are taken on a staircase which one can imagine that that was the next landing in the Sheffield home before she takes her descent into the living room.
Moschino Cheap and Chic Spring 2010 from style.com
Hi, welcome to Should Be On the Nanny. First rule of Should Be on the Nanny is Moschino is god. It is definitely getting to the point where I can't separate the two anymore. I think this collection is really well done. This is a good, fun, bright spring/summer collection. Moschino does fun/happy clothes better than anyone else. I can already think of a few lady bloggers who are going to go cray cray over this collection (and especially the shoes.) Is it just me? I don't know. I really like it!
A couple nights ago I got to meet some of my favorite internet ladies and (gentlemen). Some of them even got to be there in person for this Marc does Comme show. I really like this collection! My favorite since the mirrored hat collection (it's in a previous post). Anyways, this post is for you guys! Hope to see you all soon.
