YSL Resort 2010

YSL Resort 2010 from style.com

Why is it that every outfit I put CC in I want for myself? I've been getting pretty heavily into YSL this past summer, which I'm sure you could tell from my slovenly appearance. (A cross between Johnny from the Fashion Show and Brooks Brothers boys dept. Jealous?) ANYways, I'd love to wear any of these YSL resort outfits if I looked like miss CC Babcock.

Charles Anastase Fall 2009

Finally, knock on wood, fingers crossed, work has let up some so that frees up some time for blogging. I don't think Charles Anastase is obviously Nanny but I think it's kind of like Nanny lite?

Nanny photoshoot ideas...

V magazine has done some pretty great photo shoots. Two in particular that have stood out to me were the Eyes of Laura Mars one featuring Linda Evangelista and Raquel Zimmerman and the Mahogany one featuring Tyra Banks and Sessilee Lopez (it's really good!). I would love to see a Nanny inspired photo shoot. Any suggestions as to which model would make a good fran fine? The only model I could think of was Isabeli Fontana.

Related/ Unrelated

Thanks to Culture Munchies who posted this link on her blog. I did not know that Brenda Cooper was the stylist for the Nanny. (I know, I know.) She does look awfully familiar though. Was she on that red carpet fashion show with joan Rivers on E! a long time ago?

Anyways, my favorite part is when the Black Box song "Everybody, Everybody" kicks in. Thanks to polio, there's been a real Black Box revival for me this summer. All I ever wanted is to look like was Katrin from Black Box. Although, Martha Wash is my own personal hero. Oh yeah, that song is the song from the workout montage from the Cutting Edge (one of my favorite movies.)

P.S. Is that keyboard even on?

Balmain Fall 2009

There are certain posts I didn't want to do because I felt like they were too obvious, but as I'm running out of ideas I end up doing them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Marios Schwab Spring 2008

This is one of my favorite collections of all time. I love you, Marios Schwab, and I can't wait to see what you do at Halston.

Danke DVR

So thanks to Nanny reruns on Nick at Nite and the magic of DVR, I'm able to watch even more episodes of the Nanny. (Maybe not a good thing?) I'm pretty familiar with seasons 1-3 since I own them on DVD (obviously) but am getting more familiar with the later seasons. Basically I DVR anything from 1996 on up. So amazing things I've discovered recently.
1. Did you know that Ray Charles played Yetta's fiance, Sammy?
2. Did you know that Sammy's nephew was Bryant Gumbel?
3. Roseanne played Fran's cousin Sheila?
4. There was an episode where Fran was the 5th wheel, both Cece and Val had boyfriends and she dances to my second favorite Eurythmics song, "Would I Lie To You?" (No. 1 favorite is "Love Is A Stranger". If you haven't seen the video, I can't recommend it enough. I met someone who told me that the first fashion show she went to was Karl Lagerfeld when she was 16 (?) in Paris and they played this song. I have no words.)
5. FRAN FINE'S BIRTHDAY IS NOVEMBER 26th. Ummm...MY birthday is November 25th. Crazy coincidence???? This blog was fated to happen???? Maybe I'm overreacting?
Last thing, I saw an episode where Fran wore one of her short hair wig looks with a white headband (pre-Blair Waldorf), white turtleneck, white patent boots and a lime green patent Courreges skirt suit. This exact jacket but in lime green.

new category-Things That Fran Fine Would Buy

from instyle.com

Sorry for the lack of posts. I decided to start a new category of posts entitled, "Things That Fran Fine Would Buy." Maybe I should tack on "at Loehmann's?" (Sorry for my horrible grammer! I know it's fishy but not sure how to correct it?) Anyways, I think this yellow Dior frame bag would definitely be on her list. There's something about it that kind of wails Fran Fine.

Heather Biblo for Vivienne Westwood

Yes. That's right. That's Heather Biblo for Vivienne Westwood.

Do you guys remember Heather Biblo? The Nanny kicks off with Fran being dumped by her fiance Danny for Heather Biblo, her high school arch nemesis. Heather Biblo was played by a Miss Pamela Anderson, who you can see modeling for Vivienne Westwood below. Sometimes, my job is done for me?

P.S. I just watched an episode this weekend where Joan Collins plays Maxwell Sheffield's stepmom!
